Derry’s bats came alive against Southmoreland but couldn’t keep pace with runs. Derry outhit the second place section team by one hit but struggled defensively committing 7 errors. 

Sophia Doherty and Haylee Myers pounded the ball all game putting up half of The Trojans hits. Doherty was 4 for 4 with 2 home runs, her 2nd and 3rd of the year, and 2 singles. Myers was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a single. Doherty led the Trojans with 3 RBI’s and Alexa Darazio had 2 RBI’s. Katie Dunlap, Alexa Darazio, Callie Krause and Maizie Legge all added a single. Bailey Legge added a double.  

Haley Myers started in the circle for Derry pitching 5 innings, giving up 10 runs, 6 earned striking out 5 and walking 2. Rebecca Huss completed the last 2 innings giving up 3 runs striking out 3 and walking one. 

The Trojans completed section play today against second seed Southmoreland.
