Mason Fridley drove in four on two hits, but Derry  Trojans fell to Highlands 11-5 on Tuesday.

Highlands got on the board in the top of the third inning after Jayden Struble induced Sal Barbarino to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, and an error scored two runs.

Derry  tied the game in the bottom of the third thanks to a single by Cason Long, and a double by Fridley.

A single by Will Singer gave Highlands the lead, 4-3, in the top of the fourth.

Fridley singled, which helped Derry  tie the game at five in the bottom of the fifth.

Highlands flipped the game on its head in the top of the eighth, scoring six runs on three hits to take the lead, 11-5. The biggest blow in the inning was an error that drove in two.

Beckham Ochoa earned the win for Highlands. The hurler allowed zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out two and walking three. Struble pitched five and one-third innings in relief for the Trojans. The left-handed pitcher gave up eight hits and six runs (three earned) while, striking out two and walking three. Long stepped on the mound first for Derry. The starter allowed zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out two and walking one. Kristian Kocon started the game for Highlands. The pitcher allowed zero hits and two runs over two innings, striking out three and walking four.

Fridley and Long each collected two hits for the Trojans. John Wasnick led Derry  with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing eight walks for the game. Derry  turned two double plays in the game.

Highlands amassed 10 hits in the game. Kocon drove the middle of the lineup, leading Highlands with two runs batted in. The pitcher went 1-for-5 on the day. Troy Bielak went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Highlands in hits. Jake King, Logan Lattus, and Singer each collected multiple hits for Highlands.
