Myers and DePalma Have Big Days Against Valley in First Section Win

Haylee Myers drove in five runs on three hits and Francesca DePalma drove in 3 runs on three hits to lead Derry Trojans past Valley High School 17-0 on Tuesday. Myers hit a home run to center field in the fourth inning, scoring three runs, and singled in the third inning, scoring two.
Derry Trojans scored nine runs in the third inning on the way to victory. Callie Krause singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Lylah O’Donnell drew a walk, DePalma doubled scoring one run, an error scored two runs, Sophia Doherty singled, scoring one run, Myers singled, scoring two runs, and Kameryn Dunlap drew a walk, scoring one run.
Derry Trojans got on the board in the top of the first inning after Francesca DePalma doubled to left field gap and Bailey Legge singled to left field, each scoring one run.
Derry Trojans added two runs in the second after DePalma doubled to center field.
Derry Trojans added four more runs in the top of the fourth inning on two hits. An error scored one run, and Myers homered to center field, scoring three runs, her first of the year
Myers earned the win for Derry Trojans. The righty gave up two hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out nine and walking one.
Derry Trojans collected 12 hits in the game. Myers and DePalma each collected three hits for Derry Trojans. Legge collected two hits for Derry Trojans in three at bats. Derry Trojans had a strong eye at the plate, piling up seven walks for the game. Dunlap and O’Donnell led the team with two free passes each. Derry Trojans were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error.
