Knoch Varsity Knights defeated Derry Trojans 10-0 on Tuesday thanks in part to six runs in the fifth inning.

Knoch Varsity Knights jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after an error scored one run, McKenna Brailey singled, scoring one run, and Lindsey Wise doubled, scoring two runs.

Knoch Varsity Knights scored six runs on three hits in the top of the fifth inning. Lizzie Danik drew a walk, scoring one run, Wise singled, scoring one run, Kaila Purcell singled, scoring two runs, and an error scored two runs.

Purcell earned the win for Knoch Varsity Knights. The starting pitcher allowed three hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out nine and walking one. Paris Clayton took the loss for Derry Trojans. The righty went three and one-third innings, allowing six runs (four earned) on four hits, striking out none and walking four. Haylee Myers stepped in the circle first for Derry Trojans. The starter surrendered four hits and four runs (zero earned) over one inning, striking out two and walking none.

Francesca DePalma went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Derry Trojans in hits.
