Haylee Myers drove in five on two hits and DePalma goes 3 for 3 but Derry Trojans fell to Greensburg Salem High School 9-5 on Friday. Trojans and Greensburg split this year in section play. This game was a continuation from earlier in the season due to lightning.
Derry Trojans scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh on a home run to center field by Myers.
Scarpa earned the win for Greensburg Salem High School. The pitcher surrendered six hits and five runs over seven innings, striking out 13 and walking four. Myers took the loss for Derry Trojans. The righty went seven innings, surrendering nine runs (three earned) on eight hits, striking out 11 and walking three.
Francesca DePalma set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Derry Trojans with three hits in three at bats.
Next up for Derry Trojans is a game against Indiana Varsity Indians on Monday. Trojans already won game one against Indiana. Derry Trojans clinched a playoff spot one week ago behind Knoch and Indiana will end section play for 2025 season.
