Gess Breaks Record Again, Boys Track Swept in AAA Double Dual

The Derry Area boys' track and field team lost to AAA powerhouse Norwin, with a score of 127-23, and also to Penn Trafford, which resulted in a score of 116-34, on Friday evening.
The Trojans' first place overall winners included Stanley Rajkovich in the high jump, achieving a mark of 6 feet, and Jeremiah Gess, who broke his own record for the second time in two weeks with a new record of 14 feet.
Despite their losses, many Trojans competed against both Norwin and Trafford and achieved new personal bests in the process, including Devin Hauser, who cleared 10 feet in the pole vault; Michael Anders, who marked 37 feet in the triple jump; Noah Stough, who recorded 17 feet, 11 inches in the long jump; Brady Aliff, who threw 119 feet, 7 inches in the javelin; Timothy Miller, who ran the 300-meter hurdles in 44.59 seconds; Thomas Murawski, who set a new PR in the 2-mile at 11:48; Logan Corbett, who finished the 800-meter in 2:16; and Dailyn Reid, who recorded a new PR in the 100 meters with a time of 12.09 seconds.
The next meet is the senior meet this Tuesday at Trojan Stadium against Indiana. Senior festivities will begin at 3:15, and the meet is slated to begin at 3:45.
